Category: Data Center

Size: 72,000 Square Feet

Job Story:

Global Wrap recently installed 72,000 square feet of temporary construction walls for a large-scale data center project in Jeffersonville, Ohio. The enclosure was installed during the winter months to help maintain temporary heat inside the structure, allowing critical concrete pours to remain on schedule.

With the permanent building envelope still open, this project required a temporary solution that was capable of enclosing large exterior elevations spanning approximately 70 feet high. Global Wrap mobilized quickly to install 12-mil fire retardant shrink wrap to create temporary exterior walls around the building while construction continued throughout the facility.

Once enclosed, temporary heat was able to be maintained within the building, allowing winter concrete pours to continue despite freezing exterior temperatures. Other interior construction activities including steel work and decking installation continued throughout the active jobsite as well.

In addition to enclosing the exterior, Global Wrap installed a dividing wall through the building to support the client's concrete pour sequence. This allowed the project to separate work areas and better concentrate temporary heat where it was needed in accordance with the concrete pour phases.

The scale and schedule of the project required close coordination with ongoing construction operations. Installation was completed completely from boom lifts, working in tight areas alongside other trades and equipment. Global Wrap also adjusted working hours as necessary, including night-shift installation, to meet the client's project schedule.

Strategic leave-outs were maintained throughout the exterior enclosure as directed to accommodate access and ongoing construction while the surrounding areas remained protected.

By enclosing the building exterior and providing an interior dividing wall for phased construction, Global Wrap helped maintain temporary heat in active work areas and allowed scheduled concrete pours to proceed through the winter, helping prevent weather-related schedule delays and saving the client time and money in the long run.
