Tarps Can't Do It, Ice Shield Is Expensive
In the past when a commercial flat roof was damaged and water was pouring into the building, not much could be done other than a new roof or installing an expensive ice shield layer over the roof deck. Then when the roofer finally could get there, it had to be torn off and the new roof installed. If there were stones, or slag on the roof, ice shield was not applicable.
In 1993, Global Wrap® developed the shrink wrapping of roof decks. Global Wrap® is seamless, fire retardant and drum-tight to combat the wind. We can seal around stack vents and A/C Units and install 10 to 20,000 sq. ft. a day, depending on the size of the trained crew. When you compare the costs of any alternative and add in the continued Business Interruption Losses, you will see how inexpensive Global Wrap® is, but the main reason for bringing us in, is, mitigating the losses fast.
Global Wrap® completed over 470 buildings and homes in the last five hurricanes, including Katrina, Wilma, Rita, Gustav and Ike.

Methodist Hospital
New Orleans, Hurricane Katrina
The only way on top of Methodist Hospital was by helicopter. We brought in our crews and materials, the hospital evacuated personnel and patients, as we installed the roof containment. Global Wrap put down over 20,000 sq. ft. a day.
